The big chill.

ENLARGE THIS.
This freeze has now been here for a whole week. Most unusual for this part of the country.

RIP. Captain Beefheart.

Captian Beefheart. Sorry to hear of the death of one of my all-time favourite rock musicians. I saw him at Canterbury University on his Clear Spot tour. Someone at the front stage shouted "Beefheart you're crap" and quick as a flash he replied "Son, you'd better shake my hand" and meek as a lamb the guy did. He'll probably remember that.

Heavy snow in Lancashire.

This year must go down in history as having the most snow in living memory. Here is a pic of the Golden Dome where we practice our TM Sidhi Programme at the Maharishi European Sidhaland.
I thought the Dome looked rather like a giant cake covered in thick icing.

Southport loo.

I am not the type of person who hangs around toilets but this one I was intrigued by because it was virtually untouched and was pretty old.

Figgy.

Always had a rather strange relationship with the illustrious fig ever since reading DH Lawrence's poem about this fruit.

Wednesday 28 July 2010

At last, going on holiday to see Christine in Steyning. We have just been celebrating grandad's 80th birthday here and have had a lovely evening together.

Chez Moi.

Last Saturday Rebecca and I went to southport to do some shopping and stopped for lunch at this lovely little French restaurant called Chez Moi. was We decided not to have the Frogs Legs and plumped for the Coq au Vin as the main course. Starter Shrimps in garlic & butter sauce served with Melba Toast. All very enjoyable.
Definitely worth another visit.

New hat.

I've just bought a new hat. I saw it on Ebay and I am really pleased with it. There is something about a new hat and the feeling when you wear it for the first time.
It's a 'pork-pie hat, black. The type that 'Pop-eye Doyle' played by Gene hackman,
wore in The French Connection. Rebecca and the girls think I am going through some sort of age crisis.

Snow and more snow.

What a lovely time we're having with all this beautiful snow. I'm on my way to work at Map, on the right, at the Maharishi European Sidhaland. The Dome can just be seen in the centre of the photo.
